Sean Gebhard lives in Georgia, and works in accounting as a Controller. He has
been collecting watches now for about 15 years, which really took off right
out of college when he got his first job and needed a watch.
Beginning with his first quartz piece, he quickly noticed the small details that mattered –
like a seconds hand hitting each of the markers. That curiosity into what else
the watch world had to offer, has grown into a serious collection of around 20
watches with a mix of both automatic and quartz pieces.
“I like a watch for what it is, not just the brand or the price.” Seanexplains.
His collection reflects that philosophy, favoring functional watches that are
rugged and utilitarian. He’s also not afraid to buy the same model more than
once in different colors, like the Sinn 104. His most-worn watch is a 36mm
Rolex Explorer 124270 — a watch which he was the first to express interest in
at his local AD in 2021 and got the call quickly in September of that year.
He attributes the quick turnaround to everyone else wanting the 39mm version. But
a true standout in his collection is the Zenith Chronomaster EL Primero “Final
Edition”-of which only 38 were made. A watch which also happened to be
released on his birthday back in 2021, which he saw as a sign to purchase it.
Sean discovered Wolf Watch Club early during the 2nd or 3rd competition. What caught
his attention was not just the chance to win great watches, but the excellent
odds at play. He typically enters competitions with just a few entries, but for the
Teddy x Brew Metric Special Edition, he bought 10, drawn to the exceptionally
strong collaboration between Teddy Baldassare and Brew Watches.
As an avid follower of Teddy Baldassare and the $1 entry, it was a great
opportunity.
“I was just excited to win,” he says, recalling the livestream when his namewas announced. “It felt just as thrilling as winning a Rolex.”
For Sean, winning is about the thrill of owning a watch he sees value in. He’s
not interested in flipping pieces or chasing the hype — every watch in his
collection is worn, loved, and kept. Among the watches he still dreams of
owning are a birth-year watch, like a 1985 Datejust or Speedmaster.
