Marc is a teacher in California, working in special education while completing his EdD in his dissertation year.
He first discovered Wolf Watch Club through an ad on Instagram during the Explorer competition. “I really wanted that watch. I liked the color of the Aqua Terra too. I had seen it before.”
Marc only started wearing watches this year, building what he calls a small collection.
“I really wanted to get into Omega, Rolex and even entry level watches.”
He was drawn to California dials. “Since then some watch companies have put out California dial limited releases. It is a super interesting dial. I like interesting watches. I do like cookie cutter too. I can go with watches that go with anything.”
“Growing up I did not like wearing watches or jewelry. I started wearing an Apple Watch for notifications. Then I was getting too many notifications and it was giving me anxiety. Now that I got used to wearing a watch, I bought a Hamilton Khaki Murph from Interstellar. Then a Tissot PRX blue dial. It has been a habit since then.”
He had only entered one other competition before.
“It had astronomical chances of winning. I thought, what if.” What pulled him into Wolf Watch Club was the odds. “The low-entry numbers, that is very interesting. The odds are way better. CRM Jewelers in Florida had 60,000 entries. If they can’t reach 60,000 they’ll give you a cash prize. The limited number of odds was the best part.”
Marc bought five entries for the Aqua Terra and the Explorer. “I completely forgot about it. I was at a family gathering. Then I saw that the competition was that day. I ended the visit, went home, lay down in bed, and as soon as they announced my name I started jumping up and down. They mentioned my name, I was like holy crap, is this real? In the chat they’re like, Marc is here.”
He credits the way Wolf Watch Club structures its competitions. “The low-entry counts, the ease of getting entries. Even when I did not win, I did not even feel bad knowing how good the odds were for me to win.”
“Low entry count, maybe even add midnight competitions. More TikTok presence can help to get the name out. Have the winner send their winning experience, a feed video. I think what they are doing is fantastic and I hope they keep doing what they are doing.”
At first Marc did not tell anyone. “I do not have friends who are enthusiastic about watches. I am the only one. Others, when they hear that I did win, they ask if it is a scam. No, they are verified. There is a good rating on Trustpilot. People look at the numbers, people say it has to be a scam, it must be rigged, as if I am someone’s employee or something.”
