Rolex Daytona "Panda"

For Ramon Bosch Bosch, watches have always been about more than what is on the wrist. They mark important moments, carry memories, and, one day, can be passed down to the next generation.
Based in Barcelona, Ramon is 40 years old, an industrial engineer working as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry, a frequent traveller, a self described food lover, and a lifelong watch enthusiast.
“I really like watches as well, since I was a child,” Ramon told us. “You know, when you are a child you have the typical Swatch and Casio and so on.”
His first “proper” watch came when he was 18, a TAG Heuer Formula 1 given to him as a present. Years later, when he got married, his wife gave him an IWC Pilot.
But as Ramon got older, watches started to take on an even deeper meaning.
“For my first child, a few years ago, my mother gave me a Datejust,” he explained. The idea was that one day, he would have something meaningful to pass down to his son. “This is why I was looking out for a second watch for the second child.”
And Ramon already knew exactly which watch he wanted.
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona “Panda.”
Ramon had been trying to purchase one through the traditional route for about a year, but knew how difficult the watch was to obtain.
“I was looking for this one specifically. This one I really liked.”
Then, almost by chance, he came across Wolf Watch Club on Instagram.
Like many people discovering WWC for the first time, Ramon did some homework before entering.
“I was checking also comments on Instagram,” he said. After looking through the community and seeing the experiences of other players, he decided to give it a shot.
The timing could not have been better. The Daytona Panda he had been searching for was the watch up for grabs that week.
“Everything just connected.”
Ramon entered with just three entries.
It was not only his first Wolf Watch Club competition. It was the first watch competition he had ever entered.
Then came an early morning in Barcelona that he will probably remember for a very long time.
Ramon was feeding his three month old son while going through his emails at around five or six in the morning when he saw the message from WWC.
Huge congratulations. You won.
“I said, ‘I can’t believe it.’”
His reaction?
He went back to sleep.
“When I woke up, I said, ‘Okay, let’s read it again because I don’t know.’”
Once it finally began to sink in, the reality was pretty incredible. Three entries. His first competition. And the exact watch he had been searching for.
“I was like, wow. So, yeah, kind of amazing. I’m very happy, very happy.”
His friends soon started seeing the winner announcement too.
“They were like, ‘Did you win that watch?’ I said, ‘It seems so.’”
For Ramon, there is something beautifully fitting about the way it all happened. The Daytona was meant to celebrate his 40th birthday, but it can now represent something even bigger: the arrival of his second child and another watch that may eventually become part of the family.
Ramon sees watches as objects that can live far beyond the person who first wears them. His wife received her father’s first Rolex when she turned 30, a tradition Ramon particularly appreciates.
“This kind of watches persist during the years, so I think it’s a very good gift.”
Now, he has another piece to add to that story.
A Rolex Daytona Panda.
Three entries.
His first ever competition.
Or, as Ramon put it himself:
“The lucky of the first time.”
Congratulations, Ramon. Welcome to the Wolf Watch Club winners circle, and congratulations on becoming our first winner from Spain.
