Rolex OP 41: Winner's Choice

Robert Furr, winner of the Rolex OP 41: Winner's Choice #79

Robert Furr

United States

For Robert Furr, winning the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Winner’s Choice competition was more than a lucky Sunday. It was the payoff to nearly a full year of playing with Wolf Watch Club.

Robert joined WWC in July of last year.

Exactly 364 days later, he won.

Based in Florida, Robert is in his early 60s and works as the CFO of an automotive dealership group in West Palm Beach. He has spent most of his career in the auto industry and, outside of work, is a big sports fan.

“I follow almost all sports,” Robert told us. “My favorite is probably college football, then NFL.”

He is also in the middle of a transition from Atlanta, Georgia, to Florida, making the timing of the win another memorable moment in an already busy year.

But Robert’s introduction to Wolf Watch Club actually came through someone he knew.

A former co-worker, Sean Gebhardt, had previously won with WWC.

“He actually won the Teddy,” Robert told us.

Seeing someone he personally knew win made the whole thing much more tangible.

“This is real. I can actually win.”

Robert kept playing.

Week after week. Competition after competition.

Then, almost one year after joining, his turn finally came.

And there was one person who apparently knew it before he did.

“My wife, she knew I was going to win.”

She was watching the live competition with him, something she had never done before.

“That’s the first time she’s ever actually watched the drawing.”

Robert joked that she may have been the good luck charm he needed.

“I got a lot of good luck from her.”

Then his name was called.

“I couldn’t believe when they called my name.”

This was not just any Rolex competition either. Robert had won the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Winner’s Choice, meaning the final decision was his.

With several dial options available, Robert eventually chose the Pistachio.

“It was a little bit of a hard decision, but the Pistachio does stand out to me.”

After nearly a year of entering competitions, Robert’s persistence had finally paid off.

His story is also a reminder that every winner gets there differently. Some win on their first try. Others keep showing up until their number finally comes up.

For Robert, it happened 364 days after he first joined Wolf Watch Club.

And now, after watching someone he knew win before him, he has a story of his own to tell.

A Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41.

Pistachio dial.

Winner’s Choice.
