Demitri works in IT support, but his connection to watches began
long before his career—rooted in family, memory, and heritage.
As a child, he grew up seeing a watch that left a lasting
impression. Before he was born, his mother traveled the world
and, while visiting Switzerland, purchased an Omega Genève for
her father.
After he passed away, she wore the watch herself, and
Demitri remembers seeing it often while growing up.
That watch became his first real exposure to horology—and the
spark that stayed with him.
Today, he still owns that Omega, along with an Omega pocket watch
passed down from his grandparents. The pocket watch, gold-plated
and rich with history, is something he’s considered engraving one
day.
“Omega is my favorite brand because of the connection ithas to me.”
That emotional link shaped his collecting journey. When Demitri
landed his first job, he decided it was time to buy a watch for
himself. He set his sights on a Hamilton—partly because his
father wore one. After some persistent haggling, the salesperson
finally agreed, just to close the deal.
It became his first truly personal watch.
Later in life, when he got married and had children, Demitri felt
it was time to mark that milestone.
“When I got married and had kids, that’s when I decidedto get an Omega—an Omega Aqua Terra.”
At the time, the “Skyfall” Aqua Terra was the one everyone
wanted. Unable to afford a new one, he bought pre-owned—and never
looked back.
Watches quickly became more than occasional purchases. Today, he
admits that not a week goes by without him consuming watch
content, browsing forums, or reading about new releases. Beyond
Omega, he admires brands like IWC for their uncompromising tool-
watch philosophy and deep history.
Longines, however, holds a special place of admiration for him.
“There’s so much history there with Longines.”
For Demitri, the modern Conquest represents everything a daily
watch should be.
“The execution on the Longines Conquest is phenomenal.”“It’s not a watch you’re afraid to get wet or beat up.”
“Longines is showing off what they can do—and asconsumers, we’re lucky.”
Demitri first came across Wolf Watch Club on Instagram, but like
many collectors, he was cautious at first.
“Originally I saw Wolf Watch Club on IG. I was skepticalif it was legitimate.”
Over time, he kept seeing it—and eventually heard about it
through The Time Teller, which helped solidify his confidence.
Then the Longines Conquest appeared.
“When I saw the Longines, I said I’m gonna go for it.”“I don’t know why, but when I saw it, I thought I neededto buy entries for this.”
“I took the plunge.”
Something about this competition felt different.
“For some reason, I had this feeling I was gonna win.”
When the livestream began, life briefly intervened. He had to
step away to set up dinner, pausing the stream and planning to
catch up later. When he resumed, the moment came unexpectedly.
“I heard my name.”
He jumped up from the table.
“I had to rewind it because I have a pretty unique
name.”
Once confirmed, the excitement spread quickly.
“It was amazing.”
“I told my parents-in-law, my wife, my kids.”
The Longines Conquest immediately earned its place in his
rotation.
“That’s going to be my daily now for a long time.”
Reflecting on the experience, Demitri appreciates the
transparency of the process.
“I love that it’s done through random draws—it addslegitimacy.”“If you’re on the fence or not sure if it’s legitimate—it’s real.”“There are real watches.”“Take the plunge. Go for it.”“You could be the next one to win a watch.”
For Demitri, winning the Longines Conquest wasn’t just about
adding a watch—it was about history, trust, and a piece that now
carries its own story forward.
